This is my life

There comes a point in life when other people's opinion may bring you down. But then I realized I have the choice to use those stones to build a wall or to build a staircase to wellbeing. I choose the staircase.

I appreciate all the kind souls who decide to give me the chance to share my journey in the kitchen and my everyday experiences. To all the haters, the only thing I can say is thank you for showing me how much I really want to do this. #Natisenlacocina

What is Dry Brushing?

The simplest way to explain it is a basic daily routine usually performed in the morning to brush the toxins from your body. My personal way of doing it is in my bathroom while listening to relaxing music or a mantra.

You will need one of these:

I bought my dry brush at Crabtree & Evelyn. But in any beauty store they should have a dry brush. Make sure to never wet your brush.

Step 1. While you observe the good qualities of your body, accepting your flaws and embracing your beautiful body, start from your toes. Always brushing towards the heart, go up from your toes to your thighs and apply a little more pressure in areas where cellulitis is present in circles.

Step 2. Once you're on your stomach, brush it clockwise. This will activate your digestive system and make it easier for it to start in the mornings. Then continue with your back and arms.

Step 3. When you finish apply some coconut or sesame oil. Your skin should now feel smoother and cleaner. Take a shower and clean the excess of oil, but keep in mind your skin is now clean so only use soap in the crucial areas.

I have been doing this at least 6 times a week for 3 weeks now and the result has been smoother skin and a great way to start my day.

I leave you with an image that may help you start with dry brushing and some links for more information. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
